London Borough of Tower Hamlets
A contemporary two storey extension constructed of semi translucent glass planks creates a tempered internal environment that changes with the time of day and season of the year. This proposed extension and remodelling of the existing period house sits within a conservation area and is seen as a positive contributor building on the London Borough of Tower Hamlets support of contemporary architecture.
A through flowing entrance and new lowered open plan living and kitchen space provides a flexible and crafted volume. This allows the client to entertain whilst remaining intimate as the needs and use of the space vary.
A bespoke steel folding staircase will link the remodelled ground floor with the extended first floor, providing a double height studio space and additional bathroom and ensuite facilities.
